Desirée De Ridder es el alma mater de La Providencia, una estancia de la pampa argentina, y quien lleva adelante todas las actividades y proyectos con pasión y compromiso. Artista plástica, ceramista y defensora de los derechos de los animales. Ubicada en el km 328 de la ruta 7. La misma es una parcela de la legendaria Estancia El 29, de 14.000 hectáreas, fundada por su abuelo Carlos Edmundo Perkins en 1928. El casco fue diseñado por Jorge Bustillo para el personal y hoy toma un rumbo mas cultural y sustentable.

Compostaje y residuos orgánicos se utilizan como abono y alimento para gallinas. Separación de residuos.
Construcción y materiales
Proyectada por el reconocido arquitecto Jorge Bustillo en 1964, la casa esta rodeada de un increíble parque de 10 hectáreas.El galpón ubicado en un lateral de la casa fue transformado recientemente con técnicas de Bioconstrucción, para convertirlo en un taller enorme. Allí se dictan talleres sobre la bioconstrucción, el diseño sustentable y el medio ambiente. Además de residencias de artistas, especialmete del mundo del barro.
Muchas de las otras construcciones de la estancia (incluidos cuartos de huespedes) están hechos con técnicas de bioconstrucción.
Alimentos
La huerta biodinámica, el gallinero, el fogón y el horno a leña para cerámica se encuentran en las proximidades de la casa principal. Sirven un menú fijo con opciones vegetarianas. Cocinan mujeres locales del pueblo o algún chef invitado como Gervasio Pescio, de Areco.
Impacto Social
Generación de empleo y aumento de economía local. Preservación de la Cultura Gaucha. Espacio para artistas internacionales trabajando en temáticas de ancestralidad, saberes y prácticas relacionadas al barro.

Los caballos, las gallinas y la hacienda se pasean libremente por el parque y forman parte del paisaje cotidiano. Libre de agroquímicos hace varios años, se dictan talleres de reforestación con fauna nativa. Astroturismo.

Movilidad
Se puede llegar en bus desde Buenos Aires en 5.30 hrs horas al pueblo de Vedia, cercano a la estancia (25 min por ruta). Suelen llegar de noche los buses, tipo 20.30hrs. Si no, se suele coordinar con otros viajeros/as para llegar en auto.
